Lighthouse Lovers
East Quoddy Lighthouse
Mulholland Point Light
Mulholland Lighthouse
Overlooking Lubec Narrows, the town of Lubec, an old lobster pound, and including a picnic area, it provides a wonderful view, with a great chance of seeing seals swimming in the channel. Both the Muholland Light and Lubec Channel Light can be seen from this area. "Old Sparky" can also be viewed from the Roosevelt International Bridge.

East Quoddy Lighthouse
During the season, you're apt to see whales feeding offshore. If they're close enough, and the wind is blowing in the correct direction, the whales' spouting can even be heard.
Although it's dangerous and rough, for about two hours when the tide is out, the hearty and adventuresome visitor can climb the steep, slippery metal ladders, and walk on the ocean floor.
Then, across two middle islands-- connected by a short, wooden bridge--and then again down a steep ladder to cross a rocky, wet, seaweed-covered inter-tidal zone, and then finally out to the lighthouse itself!

EAST QUODDY LIGHTHOUSE
PRESERVATION GROUP
The East Quoddy Lighthouse
Faithful Lady of the Bay Of Fundy looks out over the Bay of Fundy, and is probably the most photographed lighthouse in the world!
DANGER WHEN CROSSING TO THE LIGHTHOUSE
Heed the signs. Do not take any risks.
If you become stranded on the islands by the tide, wait for rescue!
In the past, former lightkeepers have lost their lives by misjudging the strong, frigid, fast, racing tidal currents, and the tide pressurized pebble ocean floor when trying to make the crossing.
Do not wade in the water.
LUBEC CHANNEL LIGHT
THE SPARK PLUG
Channel Lighthouse
Old Sparky as is known affectionately by the local residents of Campobello Island and Lubec, Maine, was established in 1890. The 53 ft tower stands guard in the middle of the narrow strait of water which separates Lubec from Campobello Island. It was automated in 1939.
WEST QUODDY LIGHTHOUSE
West Quoddy Lighthouse
Construction of this historical light, in Quoddy Head State Park, was approved by Thomas Jefferson in 1860. The original tower was completed and put into service in 1808. In 1858, the tower was replaced with the current one and a keeper's house was added.
The current tower has 15 stripes--8 red and 7 white.
The peppermint stripes make it a special focus for avid painters, photographers and writers and this light is visited by many during the summer months.
The West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association of Lubec, Maine, whose purpose is to preserve the history of the light and its keepers, lease the former keepers house, adjacent to the lighthouse, in which they have created a Visitor Center, Museum and Art Gallery. Be sure to visit them and take some fine photographs at the easternmost point of the U.S.A.
